The resolution package for the 2013 SHSAA AGM are now published.  The AGM will occur in Nipawin from June 19 - 21, 2013.  All school personnel involved with delivering the programs of the SHSAA are encouraged to peruse the resolutions and provide feedback to their District representatives that will be attending the AGM.

2013 SHSAA PROVINCIAL BADMINTON

Thank you to Notre Dame College for hosting the 2013 SHSAA Provincial Badminton Championships.  A number of closely contested matches were played during the day.  Provincial Champions were crowned in Boys Singles, Girls Singles, Boys Doubles, Girls Doubles, and Mixed Doubles.  Results for this year's championships:

SHSAA PROVINCIAL BADMINTON CHAMPIONSHIPS

Notre Dame College will play host to the 2013 SHSAA Provincial Badminton Championships on Saturday, May 11, 2013.  The 64 competitors will be representing 33 schools from across the province.  Competitors have advanced through district and regional tournaments to reach this point of the season.  Each of the categories (Girls Singles, Boys Singles, Girls Doubles, Boys Doubles, and Mixed Doubles) will have two pools of four teams in a round robin format.  Two teams from each pool will advance to a bracket draw to determine the medallists for this year's champoinship.  Results of the championship are available here.

High School Grand Prix - Track and Field Invitational

Good luck to Moose Jaw Peacock and PA St. Mary in Toronto this weekend while they participate in the High School Grand Prix Track and Field event presented by School Sport Canada and sponsored by Nike.  The two Saskatchewan schools join two schools from each of the other provinces and territories in this celebration of High School Sport.  To follow the progress of the two schools check out the Grand Prix website http://www.highschoolgrandprix.ca/news/

SHSAA Regional Badminton Playoffs

The SHSAA Regional Badminton championships are scheduled to begin at 10:00am on Saturday, May 4.  Regional host sites are Swift Current, Oxbow, Canwood, and Saskatoon.  Two qualifiers in each category (boys and girls singles, boys and girls doubles, and mixed doubles) from each of the regional competitions will advance to the SHSAA Provincial Badminton Championships to be hosted at Notre Dame College on Saturday, May 11.  Draws and Results for this weekend's competition can be viewed by selecting Badminton in the Events list under Results.  Remember to follow the SHSAA on twitter (@shsaasport).  Badminton Draws and Results

The conference and regional projections for the 2013 - 2014 SHSAA soccer, football, and volleyball seasons are now available on the respective sport activity page.  Please contact the SHSAA office if your school plans on being involved in the SHSAA playoffs and has been omitted from the lists.

Basketball projections will be available following the May Executive Meeting.

OPEN BIDS FOR 2013 - 2014 CHAMPIONSHIPS

A reminder that the there are a number of championships for the 2013 - 2014 school year that are OPEN for bid.  Schools interested in submitting a bid are asked to use the Bids to Host form available under Forms in Quick Links.  Each District President / Athletic Commissioner has received a classification projection document for the schools in their district.  If you are unsure of your classification for next year please contact your District President or the SHSAA office.

Bids will be received until APRIL 12 for the following championships:

Sand Golf                      4A Girls Volleyball

3A Boys Volleyball      4A Boys Volleyball

All 5A Regional Volleyball Playoffs

HOOPLA 2013 UPDATE

Hoopla 2013The 5A semi finals are set for Friday, March 22, 2013 at 6:00pm and 8:00pm.  The boys will play at St. Joseph (Evan Hardy vs. Leboldus at 6:00pm, Campbell vs. Holy Cross at 8:00pm) while the girls will play at Marion Graham (Holy Cross vs. Riffel at 6:00pm, Leboldus vs. Evan Hardy at 8:00pm).  There will be consolation games at 12:45pm on Friday March 22, 2013:  Boys -  Walter Murray vs.Bishop Mahoney at Marion Graham, Girls - Aden Bowman vs. St. Joseph at Bishop Mahoney.

The following changes have occurred to the 5A Classification of HOOPLA 2013:

Saskatoon and Regina will each determine two representatives to play in the semi-final games scheduled for 6:00pm and 8:00pm on Friday, March 22, 2013.

The schedule of the semi final games will be:

@ St. Joseph ( boys semi-finals)

6:00pm  Saskatoon #1 vs. Regina #2

8:00pm  Regina #1 vs. Saskatoon #2

@ Marion Graham (girls semi-finals)

6:00pm  Saskatoon #1 vs. Regina #2
