Business
Arising From the Minutes:
· nothing to report
Commissioner's
Reports:
Volleyball:
· Leigh distributed the report
· Leigh would like to step down as the Sr. volleyball
commissioner or would like to have some help
· Linda offered to help with the commissionership
· Motion: (Linda) 2nd (Clayton) that we accept
the report as presented - Carried
· Clayton feels that the schedule should be done
before Sept.
· Larry feels that a tentative schedule should
be done by the spring and would like to suggest that
all Sr. schedules be completed by the spring
· the junior teams need to play more games, currently
the elementary school teams are playing more volleyball
that our junior teams
Basketball:
· Brad M.-when a player gets ejected from a game
they must miss the next scheduled game
· Brad would like some help with city finals!!
· Renee suggested a clean up rotation for the
schools
· Clayton pointed out that the minor officials
need to come from a neutral school
· Larry-Mon. March 8th is when we will find out
if we are hosting anything besides Small Cities for
the girls
· seeding forms are due Mon. March 1st
· the charge of all playoff games is $3.00, all
students pay, coaches with coaches card get in free,
players need their student card and their players pass
· Larry passed out the SHSAA initiative/information
sheet on jewellery for the 03/04 year
· the 3 man system will be used at Hoopla for
the 4A & 5A finals
· we need to emphasizing sportsmanship in basketball
· Martin: Jr. scores sheets are still not getting
in on time and we are still missing the girls trophy
· 25 teams were surveys as to when they would
like the invitational tournament run and the results
were: Boys - Dec. Girls-Feb.
Curling:
· congrats to RVCI boys, PCI girls, and PCI mixed
team for winning the city title
· this is Merv Fongers last year as commissioner
Golf:
· request for a course has been sent out
Badminton:
· the newsletter is on-line
· provincials are in Foam Lake - book rooms now
Track:
· rooms have been booked for the Saskatoon Inn
New
Business:
· Martin is still trying to get score sheets
in on time - could members talk to their out of school
coaches?
· Martin questions how we ensure player ejections
are handled correctly
· If you wish to have breakfast at the next meeting,
you need to e-mail Ryan by the Monday prior to the meeting
- cost $3
