M.J.H.S.A.D OCTOBER 14, 2004 MEETING

2. Business arising from minutes

C.Sjoberg- budget report for 2003/04

MOTION- "ADOPT REPORT AT NEXT DIRECTORATE MEETING"
(M.Holzer/L.Symenuk) CARRIED

· Number of tournaments was passed at the board level and has
been accepted by the Directorate.

3. Commissioners Reports

Golf (M.Holzer)- Congratulations to Vanier on winning the city
title
- concern about filling teams with quality people
- thanks to the supervisors
- report next month
- thanks to M.Holzer from the Directorate

Football (L.Segall)- Presented football stats
- Provincials in Regina on long weekend

Soccer (L.Segall)- seeding forms in to SHSAA
- presented soccer stats
- hosting 2A at Sunningdale on Oct.29 and 30
- need ideas on corporate sponsorship
- Soccerfest best tournament in province

X-Country (R.Verge) - report next month
- 17 students in provincials
- thanks Renee for running the meet

Sr.Volleyball (L.Pethick) - SIAST booked for finals
- SIAST increased costs to $45/hr
- coaches have play-off format
- gate for play-offs is $3.00
- finals will be best of 5

Jr.Volleyball (R.Boughen) - need stat sheets
(L.Symenuk) - sent out information about proper
procedures for games
- round robin on the 20th at CCI/PCI
- hand in Junior questionnaire

Sr.Basketball (M.Kukurudza) - tentative schedule
- questions contact B.Moser

MOTION- "Accept start dates for senior basketball (Nov 15) and
Juniors (Nov 9)" (M.Holzer/K.Toth) CARRIED

- no dunking in dead ball situations*first warning
*second technical foul
- Regina/Saskatoon may pull out of Hoopla
- meetings for coaches to decide on what to do about Hoopla
- information on St.Lawrence College I.D. Camp available
- basketball registration is $25.00
- all outside teams know about starting dates

Jr.Basketball (M.Holzer) - meeting for all coaches
- new rules will be summarized and
sent out to coaches

Sr. Basketball Tournament (B.Gottselig)- making final plans
- hope to have officials

Curling (J.Samoleski)- Oct. 25 start date
- first games Nov.9
- need numbers for teams by Nov.1
- teams must wear school colors
