Golf (5.4)
Provincial
Golf:
1. An
eighteen hole competition will be held in the fall to choose
the Provincial Golf Team.
2. The top three (3) male golfers and top three (3) female
golfers at this competition will advance to the Provincial
Championships.
3. As well, this competition will determine a school team
champion that will also advance to the Provincial Championships.
This team may have a maximum of 6 golfers, 2 of which must
be of the opposite sex and a minimum of 4 golfers, 1 of which
must be of the opposite sex.
4. Ties will be broken by retrogression.
City
Golf:
1. Several
league competitions will be held in the Spring leading to
an eighteen hole, medal play, city championship tournament.
2. Schools may enter a maximum of five golfers in any or all
of the competitions.
3. All local golf rules apply.
4. Eligibilities must be sent to the R.H.S.A.A. Athletic Office
prior to the first competition.
5. Rules
for the league schedule:
- All students must be golfers.
- All students must understand the rules of etiquette.
- Two minute time limit for lost balls.
- All rounds are nine or eighteen holes.
- A golfer will play each hole until a score of double par
for that hole has been reached. The golfer will then pick
up their ball and record their score as double par.
6. Rules
for the city championship:
- The city championship will be an eighteen hole medal competition.
- Entries must be designated junior and senior, boy or girl.
- Individual medals will be given for Boys (1-2-3), Girls
(1-2-3), and Junior Boys (1-2-3).
- Juniors are under 17 as of August 31st of that school year
and are in grades 9 or 10.
- To participate in the city championship the student must
participate in the league.
- Every golfer in this event must play every hole out. There
are to be no "gimmes".
