Volleyball

Volleyball (5.65)

Girls:

1. The date that fall practices may begin will be decided at the pre-season meeting.

2. All games will be played under Volleyball Canada rules subject to SHSAA exceptions.

3. Matches for Junior and Senior Boys will be played Monday and Wednesday. Matches for Junior and Senior Girls will be played Tuesday and Thursday.

4.All Junior and Senior matches will consist of a best of three games to twenty – five (25). In senior if one team wins the first two games the third will be played to fifteen (15) points. In junior if one team wins the first two the third game will be played to twenty – five (25) points.

5. The league will consist of a single round-robin. Senior Girls Small School league will consist of a double round robin.

6. Eligibility must be posted on the SHSAA web site prior to the teams' first league game.

7. Junior Girls must be under 17 as of midnight, August 31st of that school year.

8. Playoff Structure:
A. 4A (Senior Girls)

Game 1: Lowest Survivor at Highest Survivor
Game 2: Middle Survivors (at home of highest finisher)

9. Game times for a doubleheader will be 6:15 and 7:30. Game times for single games will be 6:00 pm for girls and 7:30 for boys. Laval, Scott and Cochrane home game time is 4:30 and 5:45 for a doubleheader. Single game time will be 4:30 pm.

10 Home team responsibilities:
- The home team must provide a competent umpire and scorekeeper.
-
The lines people will be supplied by the two competing teams
            NOTE: Each team will be responsible for the lines on their side of the net..

- The home coach will mail the top copy of the scoresheet to the R.H.S.A.A. Athletic Office.

11. Play-off positions will be determined by:
a) Matches won.
b) If tied, ratio of games won or lost between the tied teams, remembering that in the best of three matches, to count only the first two games if the score is 2-0 and all three games if the score is 2-1 and the third game was required.
c) If still tied, ratio of points for and against in games played between the tied teams.

12. City Final
The Large School Junior and Senior Girls and Boys and the Small School Senior Girls City Championship games will be hosted by the RHSAA at the University of Regina.
The Junior Girls Small School City Championship will be hosted at a neutral Regina High School.

13. Net height for Seniors shall be 2m 24cm.
Net height for Juniors shall be 2m 15cm.

14. Roster size is unrestricted except for provincials where 15 players may be dressed for any one game and 12 of these players must be recorded on the scoresheet. Additional team members may be exchanged for those on previous scoresheets, as long as no more than 12 take part in any given game of any match.

15. The winning coach is to phone the scores to Ann Hollinger (949-9242).

16. All-Star Selection: (Senior Girls)
After each game the coach of the winning team will choose ONE player from the losing team and the coach of the losing team will choose THREE players from the winning team as game all – stars. These names will be emailed by the winning coach, and cc’d to the opposing coach, to the RHSAA office the following morning.

17 For all league and playoff games teams will use the ASICS - V5T - WL volleyball.

18. Tournaments:
- Each team may participate in a maximum of three events beyond one hosted by itself
- A team may travel out of the city to a maximum of two events.
- A team is allowed to participate in a fourth event as a host

19.  A junior player who dresses for a minimum of one regularly scheduled senior league game that player will no longer be eligible to participate as a Junior and must remain on that Senior team for the duration of the season. A junior player may participate in tournaments or exhibition games as a member of that Senior team without losing their Junior eligibility. That player may also join the Senior team for the league playoffs once their season has concluded.

Junior Girls

1. League Structure:

Large School / Small School Declarations

2. Play-offs: Each league will conclude with a city championship. All teams make the
play-offs.

3. Tournaments:
- Each team may participate in a maximum of three events beyond one hosted by itself
- A team may travel out of the city to a maximum of two events.
- A team is allowed to participate in a fourth event as a host

4. A junior player who dresses for a minimum of one regularly scheduled senior league game that player will no longer be eligible to participate as a Junior and must remain on that Senior team for the duration of the season. A junior player may participate in tournaments or exhibition games as a member of that Senior team without losing their Junior eligibility. That player may also join the Senior team for the league playoffs once their season has concluded.

In the event that a school does not have a senior team and is not able to complete a coop agreement a senior age player(s) may participate on the schools junior team under the following conditions:

a) The player(s) is ineligible to participate in the playoffs

b) The school must forfeit their final standing after regular season play is completed and will occupy the last place position.

c) In the event that there are two or more schools using senior players the schools will finish in the last positions based on their standings at the end of the regular season.

5. If a third game of a best of three match has to be played, whether it is in league or in playoffs it will be played to 25 points.

6. All junior league and playoff games will continue to use the 12 person unlimited substitution rule and Libero.

- A team is allowed to participate in a fourth event as a host

4. A junior player who dresses for a minimum of one regularly scheduled senior league game that player will no longer be eligible to participate as a Junior and must remain on that Senior team for the duration of the season. A junior player may participate in tournaments or exhibition games as a member of that Senior team without losing their Junior eligibility. That player may also join the Senior team for the league playoffs once their season has concluded.
