Senior
Basketball
Playoff
1. All
teams entered in a particular classification are eligible
to compete for the for the District Championship in their
respective category. If there are more than 8 teams entered
in one category than a wild card game will be played.
2. Separate
Category for girls and boys according to following classifications

1 to 49 male students; unless fifty-six (56)
or more teams commit to the provincial playoffs;
if so, the classification will be split into two
equal divisions 1AA (larger schools) and 1A (smaller
schools).
2A 50 to 99 male students
3A 100 to 249 male students
4A 250 or more male students |

3. In
all cases the following draw will be adhered to.
8 Teams
- 1 vs 8, 2 vs 7, 3 vs 6, 4 vs 5.
- winners advance to the A side
7 Teams
- 1 seed receives a bye, 2 vs 7, 3 vs 6, 4 vs 5
6 Teams
- 1 and 2 receive byes and will not play until Saturday
- Teams 3- 6 play Friday night
5 Teams
- 1, 2, and 3 receive byes.
- 4 and 5 playoff ahead of time at home of 4
- one day tournament with 1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3
4 Teams
- 1 vs 4, 2 vs 3
3 Teams
- District host receives bye regardless of seed.
- 2 and 3 playoff ahead of time at home of 2
- All dates are mutually agreed upon
2 Teams
- 1 and 2 playoff at host site according to rotation.
1 Team
- District Champion (no medals presented)
Note: In all cases an A side and Consolation side will be
played when 4 or more teams are involved in the playoff.
4. Seeding
of Teams
Teams
will be seeded by the following; West Central President, Officials
Commissioner and Host Commissioner of the respective category.
Junior
Basketball
a) In
basketball, games will be played in 16 minute halves. Host
may choose to use an alternating arrow to replace jump balls.
Each half will start with a jump ball. Draw is 2 pools of
three. Top team in each pool advances to final.
b) Both
boys and girls will use the size 6 ball (same size as senior
girls).
c) One
entry per school division. If more than six divisions are
entered, the host divisions from the previous two years shall
play off and the loser shall be eliminated. The division that
hosted districts most recently shall host the inter-division
playoff. The six teams shall be divided into two pools and
the winner of each pool shall play off for the District Championship.
