  Hannah MacNeil from Shaunavon captured the silver medal at the SHSAA provincial golf championship on Sept 23/24 at Madge Lake golf course.  The 36 hole tournament battled all the elements as the golfers faced a wet and soggy course on Saturday.  Hannah shot a 91 and an 87 for a two day total of 178.  Congrats to Hannah and her coach Jaret Olesen!  In the boys’ competition, the results were as follows:

13th Griffin Wilson (Swift Current Comp) total of 162

29th tie Ethan Fizell and Gaige Calkins (Swift Current Comp) total of 179

67th Keegan Goffinet (Ponteix) total of 221

69th Theo Laustch (Swift Current Comp) total of 232.

In the team competition, the Swift Current Comp boys placed 5th.

Vanguard & Shaunavon  tied in second match 1 each.

The senior boys volleyball league at Ponteix  scheduled for Sept 21 was cancelled.

The Swift Current Ardens soccer games scheduled for Sept 24 in Moose Jaw were cancelled.

                The SWAC district cross country championships will be held Wednesday, October 5 at Grasslands National Park near Val Marie.  We will be set up at the Two Trees Trail day camp area south of Val Marie.  Students from various schools throughout Chinook SD will take part.  We will be running 5 age categories: Pee Wees will include grades 4-6, Bantams will include grades 7-8, Midgets are under 15, Juniors are under 16 and Seniors are over 16.  Races will start at 2:30 with the younger groups.  The midget, junior and senior runners will have the opportunity to advance to the SHSAA provincial championships being held in Delisle on Oct 15.  Good luck runners!
