e). The District Championships shall mirror the format of the SHSAA Regional playoffs for Senior competition (no A-B Final), and be a double knockout draw for the Junior Competition.

f). In Junior curling, if there is a need for a mixed team spare as a result of sickness, illness or other extenuating circumstances, the school may use their boys team or their girls team spare if they have not already participated in a game.  That spare will remain with the mixed team for the remainder of the district playoffs.

h). $300.00 per District Championship host shall be paid per facility rental or $600 if it can be held in one facility– if requested.

Brush Head Moratorium

On the recommendation of the Curling Sport Advisory Group, the SHSAA will not be applying the Brush Head Moratorium to high school curling due to a number of factors. The Brush Head Moratorium can be referenced at the following link:  http://www.curling.ca/championships/sweeping-moratorium-statement/

Regarding sweeping, the SHSAA "encourages everyone to consider the true spirit of the sport of curling, and regardless of the brush head in use, all players should revert to the sweeping techniques/ styles in play prior to the 2015-16 season (ie. sweep in any direction you want, but do not leave debris in front of the stone and the last brush stroke should be away and to the side of the path of the stone.)"
