There are four (4) components to the Football program in East Central:
A 9-man league available to all teams. This league involves guest teams from outside the District and from schools registered in 6-man.
9-man SHSAA competition. A winner is declared from a conference (s) that is formatted annually, usually involving East Central League teams and some other. This winner then proceeds through single elimination play to the Provincial Final. The format for this play is also determined annually by the SHSAA.
6-man SHSAA competition. East Central teams are assigned to a conference to determine a winner who then proceeds to single elimination play. Conferences and single elimination are determined annually by the SHSAA.
12-man SHSAA competition. Yorkton Regional competes in the RIFL league.
ECDAA assigns a Commissioner to each of the four components.
ECDAA champions are declared in 9-man from League standings and in 6-man the format is determined annually by the Commissioner.
