TRACK & FIELD SPIKES

As per the Track & Field Activity Rules:

As the tracks and all jumps areas are all-weather artificial surfaces, spikes longer than 7mm in length will not be allowed (9mm heel spikes for High Jump and Javelin are accepted).  Pyramid (cone) and Tartan (pin) spikes are acceptable.  Athletes will be checked prior to each event and will not be allowed to compete with illegal footwear.  The meet will not be delayed to allow athletes to change spikes.  Appropriate footwear is mandatory.

COACHING TRACK AND FIELD

Coaching Association of Canada has three modules to help beginner Track & Field coaches.

  • Fundamentals of Athletics: Jumps
  • Fundamentals of Athletics: Throws
  • Fundamentals of Athletics: Track

These modules are available free of charge in The Locker.
