The SHSAA Executive Council has finalized the 2015-16 SHSAA Sport Advisory Groups.  The list of these groups and contact information can be found by clicking here.

The Executive Council would like to thank all the individuals that took time to apply for the Sport Specific Advisory Groups. Each group will carry out an annual review of the Association activities in order to assist the Executive Council with maintaining the SHSAA activity policies.  SHSAA executive members chair each group and report to the Executive Council on discussions that have occurred.  Other individuals from the Association are encouraged to contact the Sport Advisory Groups or submit event evaluation forms with any dialogue they have regarding the activities of the Association.  District Councils are also encouraged to forward ideas to the Sport Advisory Groups as well as submit results of their discussions regarding the SHSAA activity policies directly to the Executive Council.

In their review of the SHSAA activities, the Sport Advisory Groups will consider the many ideas to be forwarded to them through individual comments, Executive discussions, District meetings, and event evaluation forms.  These sport specific focus groups may forward possible policy changes to the Executive Council which will act as the final filter of these suggestions going forward as debate ready resolutions to the SHSAA AGM.

This year the Executive Council was in contact with individuals who were presently serving on the Sport Advisory Groups as well as reviewing the applications received through the on-line process.  Unfortunately, the formation of the groups did not proceed as quickly as first anticipated for this school year.  In preparation for the 2016-17 school year, committee members will be contacted in June regarding their intent to serve on the committee and other interested individuals will be encouraged to apply through the on-line process in order that the Sport Specific Advisory Groups will be finalized at the September Executive meeting.
